To stay well
hydrated athletes need to consume a minimum of 8-16
cups (2-4 liters) of fluid a day (for younger
athletes that might be a little lower)
Water is best absorbed into the body when it is
cool (10-15C 0r 50-59F)
Pre-Exercise or Sport
-Drink 500ml
-600ml of fluid 2-3 hours prior to activity (1 500ml
bottle)
-Consume 200-300ml 10
to 20 minutes prior to activity.
-The amounts will vary from individual to individual.
You need find out what works best for you.
Post Activity
Drink a minimum
of 500ml of fluid within two hours.
